From a vineyard located on Spring Mountain, the 2018 Pluribus (a barrel
sample) reveals a deep garnet-purple. Youthfully reticent, it needs a
fair bit of coaxing to reveal gorgeous notions of wild blueberries, ripe
black plums and warm cassis plus hints of tilled earth, truffles,
menthol and tobacco leaf. The full-bodied palate is densely packed with
tightly wound black and blue fruit layers, supported by firm, grainy
tannins and great tension, finishing very long with loads of
earthy/savory sparks.

A barrel sample, the 2018 St. Eden is deep garnet-purple in color. The
nose is a little closed at this nascent stage, offering broody glimpses
at blackcurrant jelly, boysenberries and black raspberries before
opening out to a spicy undercurrent of cloves, black pepper and cumin
seed. The palate is built like a brick house with a solid structure of
ripe, grainy tannins and a lively backbone framing the full-bodied,
muscular fruit, finishing long and layered.

. The 2013 Pluribus is the finest wine I’ve tasted from this vineyard to
date, capturing the vintage’s extraordinary purity and richness, with a
multidimensional mouthfeel and incredible notes of blue and black fruits,
charcoal, graphite and white flowers. This profound effort should hit
its prime in another 5-10 years and evolve for 30-40 or more

Vecina vineyard is located in the western foothills of Oakville, just to the southeast of the winery (up on Oakville Grade). Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Vecina needs a little coaxing to reveal notes of black currants, blackberries and blueberry compote with hints of dusty soil, cinnamon stick and fallen leaves. Slightly more structured than the other Bond 2017s, it has a rock-solid backbone of firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness supporting the muscular black and blue fruit flavors, finishing long and earthy. It will likely need a little longer to come around than its siblings, but it should also be longer lived.

Pluribus vineyard is situated on Spring Mountain, producing a sometimes broody wine in its youth with tons of latent power and energy waiting to erupt. Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Pluribus is a little closed and youthfully mute to begin, slowly unfurling to offer glimpses at baked plums, crushed blackcurrants, boysenberries and redcurrant jelly plus suggestions of charcoal, black olives, Sichuan pepper and bay leaves with a waft of pain grille. Vecina vineyard is located in the western foothills of Oakville, just to the south-east of the winery (up on Oakville Grade). Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Vecina slips sensuously out of the glass with gorgeous black cherries, kirsch, wild blueberries and blackcurrant pastilles notes plus suggestions of bouquet garni, pencil lead, tilled earth and underbrush. Full-bodied, taut and packed with ripe, expressive, exquisitely accented black and blue fruits, it has loads of earthy sparks and a compelling fine-grained nature to the firm texture, finishing long and layered. This bright, energetic, incredibly nuanced beauty is built like a brick house and, while approachable in youth, is easily a 50-year wine. I therefore urge readers to wait at least 5-7 years before opening to allow for the myriad of subtle nuances to emerge and offer that "WOW" experience that will reward patience.
