The single-vineyard red 2021 Vinha da Serra was produced with a field blend dominated by Tinta Amarela from a small plot that's over 100 years old at 600 meters above sea level in the Estrela Mountains, a west-facing slope. It's a wine of perfume and finesse, and it's herbal, spicy, floral and very elegant, with incredible purity. It has 11.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.6 and 6.02 grams of acidity, parameters of lightness and freshness. The palate is medium-bodied and the tannins very fine. It finishes with long, pure flavors and a salty sensation. It matured in a used 400-liter oak barrel for 18 months. Only 570 bottles were filled in August 2023.

The 2021 A Centenária refers to a centenary vineyard (actually around 130 years old) planted with 60% Jaen (Mencía) and the rest a complex field blend of more than 20 varieties, some still not identified, Tinta Amarela, Baga, Negro Mouro, Marufo, Tinta Pinheira, Bastardo, Tinta Carvalha, Tourigo do Douro, Cidreiro, Coração de Galo, Alfrocheiro and Alicante-Bouschet, etc. The difference here is the energy and depth on the palate. The nose is also incredibly perfumed and elegant, like the 2021 Vinha da Serra, floral and spicy. The three single-vineyard wines have different personalities, and that's why they bottle them separately. It has 12% alcohol, a pH of 3.74 and 5.72 grams of acidity. It had a soft vinification with a long infusion in search of elegance. It spent 18 months in used 225- and 500-liter oak barrels. 1,000 bottles were filled in August 2023.

The old-vine white 2021 Vinhas Velhas Branco was produced with the fruit from some 15 small plots of old vines aged between 60 and 130 years of age and planted with a myriad of old varieties—Síria, Bical, Fernão Pires, Encruzado, Arinto, Cerceal and Malvasia Fina—on slopes with granite soils. It's inspired by the natural vinification of some Burgundy wines. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in 500-liter barrels for 12 months and a further 10 months in stainless steel. It has moderate ripeness and alcohol (12%) with a pH of 3.33 and 5.29 grams of acidity. It has an incredible nose that is nuanced, complex, elegant and changing, with notes of herbs, wild flowers and earth. It has a very tasty and saline palate that is subtle with great purity of flavors, clean and precise. It reminds me of some whites from Ganevat. 7,900 bottles produced. As always, it was bottled with full malolactic, unfiltered and unfined. It was bottled in April 2023.
