VOLNAY 1ER CRU CHAMPANS
ピノノワール種100%。「シャンパン」とは「傾斜の畑」という意味で、文字通り地表がきれいな曲面を描いている畑です。樹齢は約35年で東西に伸びる2つの区画を所有しており、広さは約4haになります。ヴォルネーの1級の中では赤土が多く、痩せた区画で低地では砂利が多い粘土質で高地になるにつれて岩肌が露わになりゴツゴツした石灰質土壌になります。石灰質土壌からくる繊細さとミネラル風味、粘土質からくる力強さとボリュームの調和が取れていてヴォルネーのキャラクターを1番良く表現しているワインです。

2021年のピノノワールはクラシックな色調で軽やかで繊細、フレッシュでバランスが取れたキレイなキャラクター。とても典型的なピノノワールで昔ながらの味わい、2019年や2020年のような太陽が多かったヴィンテージとは対照的となっている。レジオナルで5～10年、村名以上では10～20年くらい熟成できるポテンシャルを持っているだろう。

「Perdrix（ペルドリ）」とはフランス語でヤマウズラの意味で、グリオット（フランスの酸味の強いサクランボ）やイチゴ、コケモモのようなエレガントなアロマ、カシスのようなスパイシーなニュアンスもあり、時間と共に下草や香辛料なども感じられるようになります。肉厚な果実味と複雑さ、余韻は柔らかで若いうちはパワフルですが、瓶熟することでタンニンも溶け込んでオイリーで滑らかになっていきます。

色調はルビーやガーネット色、グリオットやイチゴ、フランボワーズ、カシスやコケモモ、時間が経つとコンフィや下草、香辛料の香りなど様々なアロマが感じられます。繊細で肉厚な果実味と絹のように滑らかな舌触り、熟成によってストラクチャーとコクが出てきます。タンニンは力強くも滑らかですでにワインに溶け込んでいます。

モレ・サン・ドニに本拠を構えて4代続く家族経営の生産者。1973年にアンリ　ペロ・ミノによって設立、1993年に現当主のクリストフが継承して以来、気鋭の生産者として評価を高めています。畑の脇を細い道「リュオット(Ruotte)」が通っていることから命名されたと言われており、ドメーヌから歩いていける至近距離。所有している畑の面積は0.5haで樹齢は55年ほど。砂利混じりの泥灰質土壌です。エレガントでストレートな味わいとスパイシーな余韻が特徴的なワインです。

ムートンは長い間セカンドラベルを生産していませんでしたが、1993年からこのプティムートンをリリースしました。
黒系果実やチョコレート、コーヒーの濃厚な香り。口に含むと非常にいきいきとした酸が感じられ、なめらかなタンニンの下には豊かな果実味。余韻は非常に長いです。

A blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 13% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot, the very deep purple-black colored 2016 Les Pavots Proprietary Red Wine sings of crushed blackcurrants, blueberry preserves and blackberry pie with hints of camphor, black soil, truffles, crushed rocks and red roses plus a touch of garrigue. Full, rich and with wonderful finesse in the mouth, it has very finely grained tannins and plenty of vivacity, finishing long and earthy. 3,700 cases produced, to be released in the spring of 2019.

The 2019 Carruades de Lafite is rich and expansive, bursting with aromas of ripe berries, violets, spice box, cedar and cassis. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's broad and generous, with a more exotic, extravagant profile than the grand vin but also levels of concentration and character that exceed what was the case a decade ago. In recent years, Lafite has actually ripped up parcels that routinely never made it into the grand vin—and the grand vin now includes more and more Cabernet Sauvignon. Even if Carruades now contains less Merlot than was historically the case (27% in 2019), I suspect it's benefiting from the inclusion of Merlot that would have formerly made it into the assemblage of Lafite itself.

The 2015 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru, which includes 40% stems, has a gorgeous, engaging bouquet with a conspicuous oyster shell/marine influence running through the crystalline red berry fruit. There is outstanding aromatics, tension and energy here. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, harmonious and candied with finer tannin than the Mazoyeres-Chambertin that one used to find with Bertrand Maume's wines, blessed with superb salinity and precision on the finish. This is a brilliant wine from Domaine Tawse, probably the best that has been made under the new ownership.

The 2014 Proprietary Red Les Pavots (3,570 cases) is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 13% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot aged in mostly Taransaud barrels with a small helping of Darnajou thrown in. This wine is fabulous in the vintage, although certainly less profoundly concentrated and extracted, as well as structured, compared to the 2013, which was off-the-charts fabulous. This is a brilliant wine, charming, with front-end loaded plum, blackcurrant and black raspberry fruit interwoven with graphite, tar and truffle notes. The wine has sumptuous texture, sweet, velvety tannin, and a long, full-bodied finish. It should drink well for at least two decades.

Luca Currado farms in the Brunate cru on the La Morra side of the vineyard (as opposed to the Barolo side), and this wine includes fruit from new parcels. The differences are subtle to be sure, but I always associate La Morra with an extreme silkiness and softness. I find those qualities apply to this wine. The Vietti 2016 Barolo Brunate shows blue flowers, forest fruit, wild cherry and truffle-infused earth. It reveals a lean but open-knit quality that you sense in the mouth. That softness, or textural silkiness, continues for many long minutes with hints of mint, licorice and camphor ash doled out carefully along the way. The tannins are polished and long. This is an extremely elegant Brunate.

Blended of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Les Pavots Proprietary Red Wine is scented of creme de cassis, blueberries and baking spices with hints of chocolate box, black earth and cigar box. Medium to full-bodied, the palate simply sings with black fruit reserves and spicy layers, supported by chewy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long. 2,870 cases were made.

基本的には生産者のワイナリーのみで販売されているアイテムで、セカンドラベルと言われています。　
ノン・ヴィンテージということで、色々な年のブドウが混ぜて造られています。　ですから、熟成感も感じられ直ぐに飲んでも美味しくお召し上がり頂けます。
