Beaucastel's 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape is shaping up as a blend of 30% each Grenache and Mourvèdre, with 10% each Counoise and Syrah, plus 20% other permitted varieties, including a healthy proportion of white grapes. Complex and red-fruited, with hints of flowers and garrigue, it's expansive and richly textured on the palate, finishing long and silky.

コロナ前の生産者とのお食事会でひときわ輝いていたのがこの2006年のシャトーヌフ・デ・パプでした。フラッグシップのオマージュも2ヴィンテージ用意されていましたが、私には06の生産者蔵元貯蔵の「エノテーク」表示があるこれがNo.1でした。熟成感と存在感が両立した一品です。お値段も1.5倍です。

As I stated last year, there is no Hommage a Jacques Perrin in 2006, but Beaucastel’s 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape is performing even better from bottle than it did last year. Its dense plum/ruby/purple color is followed by a big, sweet perfume of black truffles, camphor, earth, incense, new saddle leather, and loads of peppery, blackberry, and herb-infused, meaty, black cherry fruit. Deep, full-bodied, and dense, with sweet tannin, this explosively rich Chateauneuf is a stronger effort than the 2005, 2004, or 2003. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2028.

Marvelously complex, deeply fruited and massively concentrated yet wonderfully drinkable, the 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin challenges the number of superlatives that can be thrown at it. Scents of violets, tree bark, truffle, purple raspberries and blackberries all appear on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is rich, dense and velvety, and the finish shows enormous richness and length. Breathtaking stuff.

輸入元の試飲会場で味わいましたが、明らかに美味しいです。既に非常に美味しく飲めます。後に残るタンニンが美味しく熟すと更に美味しくなるのでしょうね。新鮮で明るい味わいですが、迫力も持ち合わせています。本当に見事なシャトーヌフ・デ・パプです。

The dark-fruited, plummy and cola-scented 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape is a rich, full-bodied effort reminiscent of the 2007 or 2009. Dense, powerful and savory, it may drink well for a short time on release, but expect it to close up shortly, only to reemerge in several years. There's ample concentration and sufficient tannins for the long haul, with a long, dusty finish and hints of licorice that bode well for the future.

As this was bottled only a week before I tasted it, I suspect this rating will prove to be conservative once a few months have passed. The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin is another prodigious version of this wine. How many wines in this world can be so huge yet so lacking the feeling of weight? There's plenty of layered spice but also a core of raspberries; rich tannins, yet no real astringency; and a long finish without any apparent heat. Wow!

The 500-case production of this wine comes from a three-hectare parcel of Roussanne planted in 1909. The 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Roussanne Vieilles Vignes takes the quality of Beaucastel's traditional white and raises it another level. Caramelized pineapple sounds sweet and cloying, but it isn't when it's backed by amazing texture, citrus zest and a briny sensation on the never-ending finish. As this was the last wine of my visit to the estate, I found it especially hard to spit out.

The family is a great believer in Roussanne as the white grape of the Southern Rhône, and the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc includes 80% of that variety. Waves of honeyed pineapple and tangerine sorbet flood the senses. This is really lush, yet it's underscored by a briny sense of freshness that prolongs and lingers on the finish. It may be drunk young or aged several years.

生まれて初めてこのワインを飲む機会に恵まれました。圧倒的なボリュームなのに、すでにバランスが良く素直に美味しいと感じます。もちろんタンニンはまだ硬く本来のポテンシャルは、もっと上の次元にあるのは明白です。しかしながら素晴らしいと感じます。やっぱり偉大なワインですね。　今飲むのであれば、通常のシャトーヌフ・デ・パプが明らかにお薦めです。しかし、5-10年後に飲むのであれば間違いなくこのワインだと思います。ご予算が許すようでしたら、ご検討くださいませ。正規輸入品です。

I was shocked at the quality of the 2014 Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin and I can’t think of another wine that comes close to
this level of depth, concentration and richness in the vintage. Its inky color is followed by sensational notes of roasted herbs, licorice,
caramelized meats and layers of black and blue fruits. Rich, full-bodied, thick and unctuous, hats off to the Perrin family for this incredible
effort! Give bottles 4-6 years of cellaring and drink over the following two decades.
