Tremblay has once again outdone herself with the 2022 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru, a brilliant wine in the making that unwinds in the glass with aromas of sweet red berries and cherries mingled with exotic spices, peonies, blood orange and licorice discreetly framed by new oak. Full-bodied, deep and concentrated, this vibrant, seamless wine is, as usual, one of the least evolved in the cellar, emphasizing length, whereas the Echézeaux emphasizes breadth. It concludes with a long, resonant finish.

2013 is a cool, late-ripening vintage in Champagne, defined by an October harvest in cool but sunny conditions. With a dosage of 5.5 grams per liter, the 2013 Brut Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil possesses a complex, fruity bouquet mingling aromas of orchard fruit with notions of lemon oil, exotic fruits, spring flowers, almond and hints of menthol and buttery pastry. Full-bodied, rich and dense, with lively acids, it’s more complex and incisive than the 2002 and exhibits similar power to the 2012 at this early stage. Despite what was a challenging growing season for some producers, this is a superb Salon with a long, resonant finish. -

The 2021 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is similarly brilliant, offering up aromas of cherries, raspberries, licorice, sweet spices and forest floor. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's fleshy and textural, with terrific depth at the core, powdery structuring tannins and a long, resonant finish. The cool-vintage profile works brilliantly with this earlier-ripening site. -

The 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is striking, soaring from the glass with aromas of cherries, sweet berries, rose petals, Egyptian musk, orange rind and spices. Full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's a multidimensional, textural wine that's deep and seamless, with lively acids and a long, penetrating finish.
