The 2020 Altenberg Alte Reben GG is clear, bright, fresh and precise on the nose, with concentrated and flinty fruit aromas and notes of broken slate. Silky, crystalline and juicy on the palate, this is a very intense but filigreed and highly finessed Altenberg with a long and aromatic, salivating and highly stimulating finish. A gorgeous Altenberg again that reveals outstanding finesse. Tasted in Wiesbaden in August 2021.

The 2017 Scharzhofberger P Riesling GG is highly refined and complex on the nose that intermingles dusty notes of crushed stones with lemon oil, flinty aromas and even peppery notes. Very concentrated yet pretty ethereal, like perfume on (or from?) the rocks. Crystalline and lean, this is a very fine and elegant yet lush, beautifully balanced and tonic Pergentsknopp; it is precise and focused, with lots of lemon and salty flavors. This is like a great Côte de Blanc Champagne from the Saar, just with Riesling instead of bubbles. A damn great wine and the best I have ever tasted here in 15 years. Tasted from AP #20 in June 2019.

本収穫の前に熟した房を選りすぐって収穫したブドウを使い、樹齢は全て30年以上。
良く熟したブドウと抑えた収穫量が豊かな香りとシルキーで凝縮感のある舌触りをもたらす。
コスト・パフォーマンスと味覚満足度ともに抜群。当醸造所の中核をなす上級ベーシック・ワインである。

From Kanzem's top vineyard (and one of the greatest and warmest in the Saar Valley), the 2016 Altenberg Riesling Alte Reben has a super ripe, almost raisiny nose with very fine slate aromas. After a few hours, the nose gets finer and finer, and the flinty/stony flavors take over. Highly elegant on the silky textured palate, this is an intense, lush and powerful but finessed Riesling with enormous length and concentration and a super pure and salty finish. This is a great Altenberg that is almost accessible, although it can age for at east two decades. Tasted March 2018.

カンツェマー・アルテンベルクの畑の古木の区画で、ペルゲンツクノップ、ゴッテスフースとならび、ファン・フォルクセン最上のワインの一つ。2002年頃に入手した古木の区画。棒仕立ての約9000本の支柱を交換した。ファン・フォルクセンのワインの中で最も凝縮していて、貴族的で、スレート粘板岩の暖気と岩がちな土壌の特徴がはっきりと表れている。

The 2015 Saar Riesling (Kanzemer) Altenberg Alte Reben has a deep, very clear and flinty flavored bouquet of perfectly ripe and aromatic, yet relaxed fruits. Round, lush and intense on the palate, with a ripe and concentrated Riesling fruit, this wine has a very fine acidity and crystalline minerality. This is a remarkably delicate, yet intense and well-structured Riesling with a stimulatingly salinity and grip in the finish. This is long and complex, very clear and crystalline; it displays perfectly ripe and concentrated Riesling flavors. The Altenberg is among the best dry wines from the Saar.
