ブルゴーニュの伝統である単一畑にインスピレーションを受け、イザベル・フェランドは2003 年から 2019 年にかけて、「クラシック」「レゼルヴ・オーギュスト・ファヴィエ」「コレクション・シャルル・ジロー」という 3 種類のキュヴェを生産し進化を続けてきた。
しかし娘 Guillemette の参加やブドウの木の成熟といった変化を受け、今後はシャトーヌフ・デュ・パプの古くからの伝統に回帰し、コロンビを除く上級を全てブレンドしたすることで新たに生まれ変わったアイテムを発表した。幸運にも皆さんはその新たな歴史の１ページを見届ける証人となるだろう。

Drawn from three plots of old-vine Grenache (70- to 80-year-old vines), the 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape Colombis looks to be another fantastic example of this cuvée, bursting with cherries and raspberries and nuanced by delicate sprigs of garrigue and hints of roses and black tea. Medium to full-bodied and silken in texture on the palate, it finishes with tremendous length and subtly building tannins. It's one 2020 that could take a few years to come around.
